FGL-ZUMA PREPARES THE FIRST INTERNAL MATCH

With the first day of the championship over, it’s time for Fgl-Zuma Castelfranco Pisa to look ahead and focus on their home debut in this Serie A2 Tigotà. The defeat in Lecco is already behind us for coach Marco Bracci‘s girls, who will prepare for Sunday’s match against Casalmaggiore during the week. «It will be a weekend of new emotions», confirms Alessandra Colzi, a middle blocker who was her team’s best scorer in the match against Orocash Picco Lecco. «We will play at the Palaparenti in Santa Croce sull’Arno, which will be our home this year, and we will be able to count on the support of our fans».

The warmth of the fans will certainly be of help to the girls who, for their part, will try to get their first points of the season. «We want to start again from the last set of the match in Lecco», says Colzi, «an ending that in some ways leaves a bad taste in our mouth because we had recovered several points from behind and the opportunity to reopen the match was being created. It is equally true, however», continues the middle blocker born in 1997, «that that comeback represents an important injection of confidence for us in view of the next commitments».

Believing more and more in one’s own abilities will be fundamental in a difficult tournament like the A2 one: «We must become more aware of our potential», adds Colzi, «after all, for several girls this is a new championship». This last detail should not be underestimated in the analysis of last Sunday’s defeat: «Unfortunately we didn’t play our best game, there was a lack of continuity. Credit must certainly also be given to the opposing team, which among other things knows the category more than us».

We reserve the last joke with the Fgl-Zuma powerhouse for commenting on her performance, made up of 10 points in total, two of which were blocked: «Am I among the best? I’m not one to settle. I believe I could have given more, I made mistakes in some situations and I can also grow in terms of character».
