The countdown is about to end. The adventure of Fgl-Zuma Castelfranco Pisa in the Serie A2 Tigotà 2024/2025 championship begins in Lombardy. On Sunday, at 5pm, at the Al Bione municipal building in Lecco, coach Marco Bracci‘s girls will face the home team of Orocash Picco on the first day of the regular season. After having crowned the dream of promotion, in a season – last – which saw the club also put the women’s Serie B1 Italian Cup on the board, the Pisan club is preparing to experience as a freshman a year in which the primary objective it will be the achievement of salvation.

The time has come for the girls to put to good use the hard work done during the pre-season, which began in the second half of August with a view to the now imminent debut in the championship: «Since we started preparing», confirms coach Bracci , «we first of all aimed to feel good from a physical point of view. Over the course of these weeks there was the opportunity to play some friendly tests which were very useful for our athletes, in particular to refine the understanding between the setters and the attackers. We await this match with emotion, also considering that it will be the first Serie A2 match for our club».

On the other side of the net there will be an opponent who will want to make a good impression in front of their fans: «Lecco is a more experienced team than us for this same A2», comments the Fgl-Zuma coach. «We will have to take to the field with the will and curiosity to compete against a top-class team. We expect a hard-fought match».

Athletes and staff will leave for Lombardy tomorrow. In the words of the captain, Agata Zuccarelli, there is all the determination in view of the imminent debut: «We are excited and also very curious to test ourselves in the Serie A2 championship. We’ll go to Lecco to play it on equal terms. We approached the week’s training sessions with attention and concentration. The group is there», he remarks, «even the new players have integrated very well and we can’t wait to play».

The referees of the match will be Antonio Testa and Andrea De Nard. Valerio Rusconi at the video check.
